The Datsuns Northwest 2010 Waterfall Cruise
A nice group of folks showed up for the first sunny day in what seems like weeks. We cruised the Historic Highway along the Columbia River Gorge, stopped at waterfalls, and had a picnic lunch at Guy Talbot State Park.

We met at Lewis & Clark State Park along Hwy 84 by Troutdale

We stopped at Vista House for a photo op.

Wahkeena Falls was the next stop

Then on to Horsetail Falls

Another stop and photo op at Oneonta Falls Falls

Sunny and warm at the picnic area at Guy Talbot State Park

Some of us went on to Paul & Ron's

Some of us got greasy
The Datsuns Northwest 2010 Polar Bear Cruise
Nearly 30 vehicles, more than 30 people, and two very well-behaved and fun dogs showed up for a fun run through the backroads near Salem on January 30. We visited 5 covered bridges and had a great lunch in Sublimity at the Wooden Nickel.

We all met at the Thrillville parking lot south of Salem.

People just kept coming.

...and coming...

a rarely seen image of nearly everyone taking the Datsun Pledge of Allegiance

so many cars...so little shoulder

whew! room for everyone

note to cruise organizer "find a rest area with more than one bathroom next time"

by the time we did saw the 5th bridge...it was way past time for food. we just drove through it, back out, then on to lunch!

Kelvin finally succumbing to peer pressure and also taking the Datsun Pledge of Allegiance

Fort Hoskins/ Marys Peak end of summer fun run and BBQ September 20th
Great food and a fun run to Mary's Peak or almost to Mary's Peak or somewhere halfway between Ft Hoskins and Mary's Peak...depending on whether you followed the directions or the signs ;-)
Thriller in Willard Fun Run - July 26th, 2008
It was a beautiful drive along Hwy 14 then we headed up into the hills to negotiate hairpin turns, steep climbs, and narrow country roads.
We stopped in Willard for a picnic lunch and walking tour of the town.
Once we got to Willard, a guy in a Volvo pulled in and said he worked for the Washington State Department of Tourism and had been following us from the Bridge of the Gods near Stevenson. He had been looking for an opportunity to take photos of a car club...and could he take photos of the cars? Of course was the answer. He promised to email photos and links to where they'll be used. See you should have come...your car could have been a star!
After lunch, we got back on the road and headed for South Prairie. The fast cars went on ahead and they had a blast on the deserted, well-paved, winding road. There was more fun on the way back down through Underwood to Hwy 14.
We'll do this one again!

Polar Bear Cruise
Saturday Jan 27, 2007 10AM
We started at 10am at Shari’s Restaurant located on the corner of hwy 99E and Molalla rd (hwy 211). This Cruise went through some beautiful farmland and continued through the foothills to Rosalyn Lake where we will stop for a breather. From there we continued along the Sandy River to the historical Columbia River Scenic hwy, then on to Crown Point observatory where we paused for photos. Our day ended with lunch at Multnomah Falls.
Portland Historic Races - July 7th - 9th, 2006
DatsunsNW was in attendance at the 30th annual Portland Historic Races at Portland International Raceway, July 7-9 2006. This three day event featured 250 vintage race cars battling it out in the racetrack, and much more. The paddock was open to spectators, there was a food and wine pavilion, a kids play area, vendor displays, a hot rod show, an autocross, parade laps, and the collector car corral.
DatsunsNW had our own spot in the collector car corral. This was a beautiful grassy area with trees for shade. There were many other makes represented in the corral as well, such as Ferrari, Cobra, Jaguar, Triumph and more. We bench raced, answered questions about our cars and club, saw old friends, and met some new. Around lunch time, the collector cars took to the racetrack for a parade lap. Of course, DatsunsNW was there also. If you never have been out on a racetrack this is a great way to get out there.
Many of our members took part in the autocross. The autocross ran on Saturday and Sunday. It was five dollars a run, with all proceeds going to charity. We had a blast out there battling with all the other makes for TTOD. There was a leaderboard posted and 510's always took up many spots. One of our club members went for 24 runs over the 2 days! All that seat time must have paid off, because he walked away on Sunday as runner up to top time of the day. Go DatsunsNW!
Nuclear Fun Run - Saturday, May 13th, 2006
A very scenic cruise through 40+ miles of twisty back roads. Beautiful forests all around, with multiple great photo opportunities for the taking. The major destination was a picnic at the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant in Rainier Oregon. This was one of the final opportunities to see the engineering marvel before it was imploded on May 21, 2006. After that, a group made the trip to Altered Motives for their barbeque. Yet another great way to spend a day enjoying our Datsuns!

Polar Bear Cruise - Saturday, Jan. 21st, 2006
What a turnout! There were 26 cars that made it out for the cruise. Although we saw a little precipitation, everyone had a good time during the trek up to Ridgefield. As you can see, the group was composed of many examples of Datsuns & Nissans. Keep bringing them out! If you went on this cruise, please spread the word about the your experience, the club, the website, and future events. Look for additional pictures soon!
Missed the event, or want to reminisce? Here's a link to a write up on northwestz.org THANKS TERRI!
Mary's Peak Fun Run 2005
We had a great fun-run up to Mary's Peak here in Oregon back in September of 2005! 15 local cars showed up to cruise up to the highest peak in the Oregon coast range.
